Classes start Wednesday in Fayette County Public Schools. No classes Aug. 22 (records day) or Sept. 1 (Labor Day).
To find out which schools serve your street, and for maps of school bus routes, go to the Fayette County Public Schools Web site, www.fcps.net.
High schools start at 8:25 a.m. Middle and elementary schools start at various times between 7:45 and 9:05 a.m. Visit www.fcps.net and click on individual schools to find your start time.
How do you know if there's a snow day? If there's bad weather, a team of seven district employees, including bus drivers, goes out about 2 a.m. to inspect the roads across the district. The team consults with meteorologists, the city roads department and other officials. By 5 a.m., the team decides whether to cancel classes. Listen to local television and radio, cable Channel 13 and the district's Web site.
What if my child has a problem? Contact your child's teacher if there is a problem that needs attention. If that doesn't help, contact the school principal. If that doesn't help, call the school director. Contact information for teachers may be found at http://www.fcps.net/about/feedback.htm
