Hensley out of jail, says he'll take lie detector test

- slannen@herald-leader.com

Two-time gubernatorial candidate Otis Hensley Jr. bonded out of jail Wednesday afternoon after his arrest Monday evening. Hensley was arrested in Harlan County and charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, a felony.

He said his son put up a $10,000 bond for his release.

Hensley said the charge stems from a comment he made about two girls on Monday in a store. He said the comment was misunderstood and he meant no harm.

Hensley, who campaigned with a large fiberglass bull in 2003 and 2007, said he returns to court on Monday and expects to take a lie-detector test “I will pass with flying colors.”
